The Hardwick Family Llamas
Welcome to Thundering Hooves Ranch! We are located just outside Spokane Washington in the beautiful Newman Lake area.
Personality, Athleticism and Variety is what we breed for with a little bit of special fiber thrown into the mix.
In 1996 we bought our first two boys; Mr Jackson and Trip Hammer. We wanted a large animal that our kids could work with, learn responsibility, experience farm life and maybe earn a little extra money. They trained and showed, did 4-H and community service and grew up with llamas. We’d like to say, llamas had a factor in their growing into well rounded, responsible adults. But at last, kids grow up and Mom, who to be honest, was the driving force behind the llama purchases, was now free to do her “llama thing!” Rick and I have traveled and met so many wonderful people through our llamas. We enjoy the llamas in a variety of ways ~ showing, parades, visiting schools and nursing facilities, hiking, birthday parties and fundraisers to name a few. I show in Performance, Halter and Fiber classes. Speaking of fiber, I shear our llamas, Rick spins and our youngest daughter crochets/knits the fiber! I’m also a crafter and have been known to include llama fiber in a project or two. We are a hands on farm and each llama we sell is taught to walk on a lead and have halter training, and sometimes so much more!
